I believe that there is a community through social media. I have noticed a few on my Instagram and Facebook. On my timeline, people post things related to what is going on in mainstream media or at the school they attend. Therefore, the people that relate to it respond to it or post responses about it. Personally, I don't use social media for community based conversations. I see that it exists with sports, schools and jobs.
My community on social media consists of my school, fashion, food and music. I didn't involve myself in social media as much as I do now since this class, but it has helped me become more involved with my community. These communities are a great way to assist people in becoming more innovative.

Family, My Fall Semester and Just Life!
This semester I have been through alot with my family. Alot of ups and downs, mostly downs tho. With my aunt in and out of the hospital for multiple health reasons and surgeries; and my uncle giving one of his kidneys to my aunt. I have been on an emotional rollercoaster. Honestly, it has affected my fall semester grades I just know it has. Also, with my work schedule interfering with my school schedule and my family time I just wanted to pull my hair out.
My fall semester has been full of fun times and sad moments. I get behind on my work because of my daily things, I have been through hell and back this semester. I have even cried a few times but over time this has taught me to become stronger and work around things. I have learned to set out time for me at night before I go to bed. If I don't my day will be off all types of wrong in the morning. My spring semester will be much better. Hopefully I will be starting a new job with more flexibility with a better atmosphere.
On another note, I'm enjoying my transition to natural hair. I have learned more about what works best for me and how to get my hair to look it's best naturally. By summer, I will probably be fully natural. OMG I can't wait for all the new styles I can do with my hair.

The Two L's
Love and Loyalty
A lot of women just simply don't understand these two important words. If anything we all as a human race need to learn about is love; that's the first thing. If you don't understand or know how to love. You need to learn as soon as possible. Before you can learn to love anyone else you have to love yourself first. If you don't, who will? Many women mistake love for different things. Some see love as a man showering them with gifts and money. No ma'am Pam, that is called buying your happiness/love and the last time i checked you can't place a price on love or your happiness. Maybe your love has a price but no ma'am, that is not the way to live. I'm telling you right now eventually you will get tired of that lifestyle and want something genuine. We need to understand this vital word. It has many different forms and can be explained in many different ways. Love doesn't love anybody, you have to make your own way and be patient because love will find you.

Next up is loyalty. You have to be taught what loyalty is to be able to give show loyalty. This is the symbol for love and loyalty the top of course stands for love then the bottom of it goes into a cross for loyalty. I thought it was very unique. You need to be loyal to someone whether it's God, your spouse or even a very close family member. You need to know who to be loyal too also because being loyal to the wrong person will get you in a place or situation you don't want to be in. Learn how, when, and why to use these words and trust your life will go much smoother.

Susan B. Anthony?? Do you know her?
OK so do you know who Susan B. Anthony is? I can bet a lot of you don't know who is she is or what she did in history off the top of your heads. I first learned about her in first grade when I played her in a class skit. I still have the recording of me playing her but that's not for you all to see. Moving on, she was an American civil rights leader and played an important role in women's rights movement in the 19th century. If you don't want to go through all the reading about her on Wikipedia or Google then watch the PowerPuff Girls episode called Equal Fights. It focuses on her and super villain that uses her.
The episode solely focused on this women super villain that didn't accept anything but Susan B. Anthony coins as her currency. Her name was Femme Fatale; she always said that men were nothing and she actually used feminism for her own personal gain. She convinced the girls that men and boys were mean and cruel to other girls and so in turn, the girls started to ignore what she did and started to bully men.
She explained who Susan B. Anthony was but not in the right way, she only told the girls part of what Susan B. Anthony did and what she stood for in history. In the end, the girls fought Femme Fatale and explained to her who Susan stood for and what she fought for. The whole purpose of this episode was to make fun of feminists that used feminism for their own personal gain. Which isn't the way to do things when involved with feminism and women empowerment.
I have met a few other feminists that did not know who she was. They know her name and know that she has her own coin but that's it. People in general just know that; some people feel that there's no need to know about how she got on the coin or anything. Come on people, we need to learn more about our history. Research it and learn it.

This is Femme Fatale robbing a bank, the sack she is
holding is full of Susan B. Anthony coins.

Chivalry....is it still alive?
I read a book a year ago by Jessica Valenti called He's a Stud, She's a Slut and 49 other Double Standards Every Woman should know. The book gives a lot of good points about different double standards against women and how they relate to today's society.
In chapter 4 it explains how the He's a Hero, She's a Damsel factor is still relevant in society. It explains how people think that chivalry has gone out of style. Honestly, no woman should expect a man to open doors for her or hold her chair before she sits down but it's still nice. Some men expect something in return once they treat a woman this way but it shouldn't be that way, they should just do it because it's a polite thing to do.
Women should never expect a man to do such things because most men think that these things are old school or out of style. These actions most women find attractive in a man because it shows how good your upbringing was. Only count on yourself and don't expect anything from anyone because it's your life at the end of the day not theirs.

Women
Women of today's society have lots more freedom than what they had back in the early 1900s. We couldn't vote, we couldn't speak our minds and we had to do whatever a man told us to do. We were looked at as a lesser species in the human race. If a woman spoke out of term or even spoke a small opinion of hers she was punished.
In order for a woman to become feel empowered, she has to gain confidence, determination, and self worth. Some women have been battered down by someone close to them telling them that they aren't worth anything and they won't amount to anything. A woman can do anything a man could do if not better. We are capable of anything we put our minds to.
Some women need to stand up for what they believe in. Women sometimes get themselves in situations they can't get themselves out of. There are ways to get yourself out of any situation it may take some work but there's a way. We are equal to any man that walks by us. Stand up for what you want. Never settle for anything less. Be independent. Make a foundation before you try to look for something too high.
